In 2011, I wrote my first short stories since I was given assignments in my high school English classes … way back in the *ahem* Seventies. Before that, my writings focused on real people and real life. But last year, I was bit by the fiction bug.
With the arrival of the New Year, I thought I’d kick it off by writing another short story. And here’s the trick: I’ll be posting excerpts along the way with hopes of finding critique and advice left in comments from readers like you.
One of my goals for 2012 is to get feedback on my writing, and there’s no better time than now to get started, right?
I’ll share an excerpt soon. All I have so far is a few names and knowing I want to mention “New Year” in the opening sentence. The journey begins!
Here’s to a happy new year of writing!

/ January 6, 2012I’m looking forward to your story, it will be fun to read the excerpts. It looks like you’re keeping the teapot too!

/ January 6, 2012Yes, I’m keeping the tea pot! I thought it looked better with this theme than it did with Twenty Eleven. You wrote a New Year post last week (about your emotional goals for this year) that I keep meaning to re-read and then leave a comment. It brought to mind a few family things of my own. I appreciate your honesty. Thanks for sharing your writing talent with us.
